Air Hockey Robot

This project attempts to integrate visual monitoring with fast mechanical response in the form of an air hockey playing robot. Using an overhead camera, the puck is tracked as it moves around the table. With the movement information of the puck we then use our algorithms to figure out where and how to move the paddle. Our ultimate goal is to create an unbeatable air hockey playing robot.
Currently the tracking algorithm has been completed and works according to our needs. A simulator has been developed and runs using basic AI. Further development of the AI is needed to increase the playing ability of the robot. The mechanical design of the robot is complete and under construction.
