Robot Events
10/10/02
There's a ton of Robotics related events next week, and a few opportunities for free food. Roboday will be held Tuesday and Wednesday. Basically its a big open house where the Robotics Institute share a bunch of their research and allow faculty to meet interested students.
The mobot open house is Wednesday, the 16th, at 6PM. There's always free pizza there, so you should definitely go...;-)
Finally, our first Pizza night is on Thursday, the 17th, at 6 PM in Roboclub. Come, eat delicious pizza, and talk about robots. You can float ideas, ask for funding advice, or see which projects are looking for more members.
First Meeting
09/20/02
The first meeting was today. Brian and Tom took several pictures while on the mezannine. The powerpoint of the meeting can also be found there. Announcements of projects should be starting up; if you're looking for a project don't forget to check both the bboard and the projects page.
Activities Fair and Cerebellum
09/12/02
The Activities Fair took place today. We collected 217 sign ups, due in no small part to our evil green robot. Pictures of the fair are up.
In other news, the Cerebellum finally appears to work and the club has ordered parts for 90 for use in the club and the StuCo course Fun with Robots.
Also, the Carnegie Mellon USAR team has returned from the AAAI Robot Rescue Competition in Edmonton, Canada. Excellent job for all those that participated, details to be placed on the project website soon!
High School Robotics Competition!
03/18/02
The 6th incarnation of the high school surgical lego robotics competition was completed yesterday. The competition was a great success, with all teams managing to pass 2 of 4 milestones, and 4 of 7 teams passing 3 milestones. For those who missed it, pictures and newspaper articles are available.
Shirts!
03/6/02
Shirts have finally arrived! Pick them up at any time.
New Computers
02/21/02
Senate has provided us with funding to build seven new computers. We'll use these computers for the high school robotics competition and as robot programming machines. The cluster should be up and running in the next few weeks. Thank you Senate!
